Acrylic (PMMA)

Acrylic is a useful, clear plastic that has excellent optical clarity, excellent weatherability and resistance to sunlight. It is also very rigid, with good impact strength, exceptional dimensional stability and low mould shrinkage.

Tensile Strength: Medium.

Heat resistance: Low.

Chemical Resistant : Yes.

Rigidity: High.

PMMA is often used as a substitute for glass in products such as:

Impact properties of ABS are exceptionally good at room temperature.

General-purpose ABS grades can be suitable for outdoor applications, however exposure to sunlight causes a color change and reduces surface gloss.

Impact strength, hardness and elastic modulus.

Among the most widely identifiable are keys on a computer keyboard, power-tool housing, the plastic face-guard on wall sockets (often a PC/ABS blend), and LEGO® toys.
