ABS

ABS

Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is an opaque thermoplastic and amorphous polymer. ABS has a strong resistance to corrosive chemicals and/or physical impacts. It is easily machinable and has a low melting temperature, which makes it a good choice for injection molding and 3D printing. ABS is also relatively inexpensive.

Pricing: Medium.

Tensile Strength: Medium.

Heat resistance: Low.

Rigidity: High.

Chemical Resistant : Yes.

ABS is used in a variety of applications and has a lot of benefits such as:

Impact properties of ABS are exceptionally good at room temperature.

Among the most widely identifiable are keys on a computer keyboard, power-tool housing, the plastic face-guard on wall sockets (often a PC/ABS blend), and LEGO® toys.

General-purpose ABS grades can be suitable for outdoor applications, however exposure to sunlight causes a color change and reduces surface gloss.

Good impact resistance, even at low temperatures & good insulating properties.
